Axis upgraded the fire protection system and installed a new wet sprinkler system to the residential atria at Union Central Building for William Martin Property Consultants Ltd. Delivered between September 2025 and February 2026, the £280,000 programme improved active and passive fire safety within a fully occupied building. Works included dry risers serving both stair cores, extensive fire stopping and compartmentation upgrades, fire door replacements, passive fire protection and atria repairs. Specialist access solutions supported works within the building’s curved atrium.

Axis worked closely with the Resident Liaison Manager throughout the works, maintaining resident safety and access while minimising disruption.

Careful coordination and regular communication supported safe delivery within the fully occupied building.
Specialist scaffolding and mobile access solutions enabled safe installation of sprinkler pipework and infrastructure within the curved atrium. Additional fire stopping requirements identified as concealed areas became exposed were incorporated efficiently into the programme.
