Project Details
Our residential conversions programme comprised full strip out and refurbishment, demolition works and structural changes. We installed kitchens and bathrooms, replaced boilers and electrical wiring and conducted compliance checks and roof works. We also replaced interior windows and doors.
External landscaping works included fencing, paving, drainage adaptations and security upgrades. And our DDA adaptations improved the accessibility of the properties. We ran the conversion projects to the house, storerooms and drying rooms concurrently. Our team delivered the project on time and within budget.
This project was part of the Royal Borough of Kingston’s Hidden Homes initiative which aims to redevelop unused spaces to create more homes within the borough. And, for the same client, Axis also converted 16 garages (which backed onto existing maisonette flats) into eight living rooms with outdoor space.
This project increased the living space per property by over 30%, benefitting the families in residence. It also and adding value to the Council’s property stock. There is more information about Axis’ garage conversion project conducted on behalf of the Royal Borough of Kingston here.
