Fieldway was appointed by Wigan Council to deliver a multi-disciplinary fire safety and electrical upgrade programme across seven high-rise residential blocks and more than 700 flats in Scholes Village.
Acting as Principal Contractor, we coordinated a range of life-safety, electrical and water infrastructure improvements while maintaining a resident-focused approach throughout the project. The project included the installation of new fire alarm systems, upgrades to stairwell Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems, emergency lighting improvements, electrical upgrades and domestic water service enhancements.

Working within occupied high-rise buildings required a carefully phased approach to maintain resident safety and comfort throughout the programme. Communal-area works, including emergency lighting and stairwell AOV upgrades, were prioritised to ensure safe access for residents while refurbishment progressed. A dedicated on-site team, including a Project Manager, Site Manager and Tenant Liaison Officer, provided a constant presence within Scholes Village, keeping residents informed and supporting the smooth delivery of works across all seven blocks.
Resident Care and Communication
Careful planning and collaboration with our residents enabled major safety improvements to be delivered across more than 700 occupied homes.
