Axis refurbished and re-decorated The Old Police House within Hyde Park
Project Details
Axis’ brief at The Old Police House was to refurbish the reception area; reconfigure space through partitioning; instate new floor finishes; install a new suspended ceiling, and re-decorate.
Works also included restoration of the main entrance door, a new kitchen installation and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E). The Old Police House is the fully operational headquarters of the Royal Parks’ Police, part of the Metropolitan Police Service. We were careful minimise disruption to Royal Parks’ Police during our refurbishment and modernisation works here.

The Royal Parks manages London’s eight Royal Parks – St James’s Park, The Green Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Regent’s Park (and Primrose Hill), Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. It is also responsible for several other areas including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Axis won this Heritage Refurbishment and Modernisation project via The Royal Parks’ New Builds and Refurbishments Framework (works on projects varying in value from £100,000 to £1m).
Previous works for The Royal Parks include a Grade II listed refurbishment at St Mary’s Lodge in Greenwich Park.
