Axis delivered a full restaurant refurbishment for our new client, The Sindercombe Social. The restaurant, bar and music venue is located in Shepherds Bush, West London. This work adds another project to our Leisure portfolio in the Commercial sector.
Our team began with a detailed inspection which revealed large sections of brickwork to be missing, faulty or corroded. Because of this, we raked out and repointed all of the failed mortar. We took care to ensure that replacement bricks, or those made from a plastic compound mortar, closely matched the textures and colours of the existing masonry. On the roof, we removed the rotten timber balustrade as well as cutting back and capping the pipework. We also repaired and repainted the windows. In the car park, we laid new tarmac with Thermoplastic White Lining – as is used on Highways (rather than paint or tape).
Internally, we re-polished the bar top and applied layers of shellac for a gloss finish. We also securely fixed the loose-fitting balustrade around the raised bar area. Throughout the building, we cleaned, degreased and painted walls and ceilings, pipework skirtings, dados, radiators, and panelling. The flooring was cut back to the existing joints, and appropriate new flooring was laid upon new subflooring. We replaced, repaired, and painted the interior doors while upgrading the emergency doors as well.
The restaurant refurbishment also included work in the toilets. Our team fitted new extractor fans and replaced the pipework. We also conducted fire safety works, including the supply and fitting of new smoke detectors, intumescent strips and smoke seals. Our team also carried out some electric works. They included replacing the fluorescent light fitting in the kitchen as well as upgrading lights throughout the property.
